FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A plain-English guide for parents and kids using choresarefun.

What is the basic idea?

Parents create the family chore plan. Kids sign in to see their assigned chores, claim available pickup chores, and track points.

What are assigned chores?

Assigned chores are chores a parent has already put on a kid's list. They usually represent the normal work expected for the day or week.

What are pickup chores?

Pickup chores are extra chores kids can claim when they want more points. Parents can decide which chores are available and how many points they are worth.

Why are some pickup chores locked?

Some chores can be marked as must finish before pickup chores. If one of those required chores is still active, pickup chores stay visible but cannot be claimed yet.

When do points count?

Points count when the chore is completed according to the family rules. If a chore needs parent approval, the parent should check it before treating the points as final.

Can parents change points or assignments?

Yes. Parents can edit chores, update points, adjust assignments, and manage family members from the parent dashboard.

How do kids sign in?

Parents can create kid login links so each child gets access to their own dashboard without using a parent account.
